Making Change in Columbia, South Carolina

Enthusiastically delivering WOW is one of the DLP core values that continuously drives the company towards success. Not only is it a foundation for the company but for the DLP team members as well. The team at The Views on Longcreek Apartment Homes are a prime example of how following the core values can change your life and the lives of others. The Views on Longcreek Apartment Homes is a multi-family community located in Columbia, South Carolina. The team has not only impacted their residents in a positive way but the people of Columbia as well.

On January 10th, wearing their DLP gear with pride, the team participated in a community service project and headed out to the local food bank, Harvest Hope. Harvest Hope Food Bank serves 20 counties within South Carolina and served food to over 2 million people in 2017. Their mission statement, “ The mission of Harvest Hope Food Bank is to provide for the needs of hungry people by gathering and sharing quality food with dignity, compassion, and education” speaks volume about the generosity and caring spirit that lives within the company. While the team was there, they worked together to put the bags of food together for people who came in with a food voucher so they could easily and quickly grab their bag. “Working together as a group with the team to achieve a common goal and helping make the lives of people in our community brighter has helped strengthen the bond between all of us!” explained Abigail Alexander, the General Manager at The Views on Longcreek. The team plans to continue working with Harvest Hope throughout the year so they can continuously make a difference in their community. There is also a box in the leasing office for their residents to drop off canned goods to donate year round!

That is not the only amazing service that this team is planning on doing. In February, they are going to help build a home with Habitat For Humanity! “I love helping out the community as well as working with my teammates knowing we are bettering those who are less fortunate” says Dev’Yon Brice, Leasing Manager at The Views on Longcreek. This team is demonstrating the the DLP core values in amazing ways, making a memorable name for The Views on Longcreek, and most importantly, making a positive impact on their community.
